A Daring Seating Chart

Putting the identical twins one right in front of the other.

I will finally learn to tell them apart. I will! It’s been four months—I need to get this figured out.

I always feel terrible when I get them mixed up. I’m pretty sure I am their favorite teacher—they’re always so excited to see me and they’re super engaged in class. But they are actually identical, and they play on the same sports teams, and they score within a point or two of each other on everything. When I take a second to think about it I can get it right, but I’ve confused them in class before. If they’re standing next to each other I can almost always get it right. But if just one of them is in the hall and says hi, I have no idea. I was completely disoriented when I saw them at Homecoming, all dressed up and out of context.

Of course, if I was really daring, I’d put them in the same lab group. Maybe 4th quarter.
