Write a letter - Stop the Pennsylvania Asset Test for Food Stamps
Right now the PA state government is considering implementing an asset test to receive food stamps.
Asking people to spend almost all of their savings before being eligible for SNAP means it will be much more difficult for them to reach financial stability without government assistance. Discouraging someone to acquire wealth means that they will always live in poverty.
Please read the article and sign the letter if you live in PA (or check to see if you live in one of the other 11 states that already has a similar asset test)
No longer in PA, but signal boosting.
Programs like SNAP kept dinner on the table for my hardworking family throughout most of my childhood. This is important.
