Important information alert: the new textbook I have for gifted biology has a brilliantly written and sequenced macroevolution chapter.
It’s logical, it answers all the right questions in the right sequence, and it is at the right reading level for my gifted 9th graders. There are sensible graphics (the diagrams are good! this is the unicorn of biology textbooks).
I can’t wait to use these resources next year. My evolution unit is going to be so much more successful than the mess it was this year. Having now flipped through much of this book, I feel like I won’t have to personally write and create every scrap of content for my students.*
*Not for my gifted students, at least. I’ll still need to be doing it for my other two preps. But I’ll take whatever I can get!
