What does the first day of school look like in your classroom?

  1. jacizzle answered: I have a bit of a model. Who are you? Who am I? Who are we? We work through these the first day.
  2. wwbioteach answered: Handing out the syllabus, class procedures and expectations, course layout, signing a lab safety contract, and getting to know you activities
  3. icanfixtheflatonyourcar answered: ugly lol
  4. lhuddles answered: procedures, writing, assigned seats alphabetically (at least for the first 2 weeks until i know names), summer reading reflections
  5. daniiiii-oxox answered: love and kindness.
  6. amiteachingyet answered: I don’t know yet. It’s my first one. Lots of tears, I suppose. Hopefully not mine!
  7. tobemissg answered: We are actually giving a grammar quiz day one! (Along with some other introductory business)
  8. tomesaway said: Classes are usually cut short to allow for schedule distribution in homeroom (the one day a year we have that “class”), so I’ll assign seats until I learn names, start going over the syllabus and then the bell rings.
  9. grayer answered: (Elementary) Lots of procedures. We practice routines a lot. “What should this look like?” There are also some writing samples.
